Mode of Selection, Scheme of Examination & Syllabus

A. Mode of Selection

Candidates will be selected based on a written examination and a proficiency test (Typing/Stenography), depending on the post applied for.

B. Syllabus & Exam Pattern for Jr. Secretariat Assistant

  • Mode of Examination: OMR-based or Computer-Based Multiple-Choice Questions

D. Proficiency Test in Stenography

  • Candidates will be given one dictation for 10 minutes in either English or Hindi at a speed of 80 w.p.m.
  • Transcription Time:
    • English: 50 minutes
    • Hindi: 65 minutes

Methodology for Resolution of Tie Cases

In case two or more candidates score the same marks in the exam, tie-breaking will be done in the following order:

  1. Candidates with fewer negative marks will be ranked higher.
  2. Older candidates (by Date of Birth) will be ranked higher.
  3. Candidates who acquired the required qualification earlier will be preferred.
  4. If the tie still persists, the alphabetical order of the candidate’s first name will be considered.

Selected candidates will be entitled to various benefits, including:

  • House Rent Allowance (HRA) and Travel Allowance (TA) as per Central Government rules.
  • Leave Travel Concession (LTC), Medical Reimbursement, and Children’s Education Allowance.

General Conditions & Information

  1. Citizenship: Only Indian nationals can apply.
  2. Document Verification: All educational certificates, caste certificates, and experience certificates must be uploaded in the online application.
  3. Government Employees: Candidates working in government departments must obtain a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their employer.
  4. Number of Vacancies: The number of vacancies may be increased or decreased by CSIR-CDRI at any stage of the selection process.
