The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) has released the notification for IBPS PO/MT 2024 for the recruitment of Probationary Officers/Management Trainees across multiple participating banks in India. Exam Structure
The IBPS PO/MT 2024 selection process consists of three main stages:
1. Preliminary Examination

The Main Examination will include both objective and descriptive sections. The descriptive section will be evaluated using an automated scoring mechanism.
3. Interview Process
Candidates who qualify the Main Examination will be called for an Interview, which will carry 100 marks. The minimum qualifying marks are:
- General: 40%
- SC/ST/OBC/PwBD: 35%
The final merit list will be prepared based on an 80:20 weightage (Main Exam: Interview).
Penalty for Wrong Answers
There will be a penalty for wrong answers in both Preliminary and Main exams:
- 0.25 marks will be deducted for every incorrect answer.
- No penalty for unanswered questions.
Cut-Off Score
Candidates must score the minimum qualifying marks in each section to be considered for the next stage. The cut-off marks will be decided based on the number of vacancies and overall performance of candidates.
Examination Centres
The IBPS PO/MT 2024 examination will be conducted online at various centres across India. The list of examination centres will be provided in Annexure II of the notification.
- No request for a change of exam centre will be entertained.
- IBPS reserves the right to cancel or change examination centres based on administrative feasibility.
Pre-Examination Training (PET)
For candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/Minority Communities, IBPS will provide Pre-Examination Training at selected centres. This training is free of cost, but candidates must bear their own travel and accommodation expenses.
Identity Verification
At every stage of the selection process (Preliminary, Main, and Interview), candidates must produce:
- Valid Call Letter
- Original Photo ID Proof (Aadhaar, PAN, Passport, Voter ID, etc.)
- Photocopy of the ID Proof
Candidates who fail to provide valid identity proof will not be allowed to appear for the examination.
Provisional Allotment
After the interview process, candidates will be provisionally allotted to one of the participating banks based on:
- Merit-cum-Preference
- Government Reservation Policies
- Bank Business Requirements
Candidates who do not receive an allotment may be placed on a Reserve List, which will remain valid till 31st March 2026.

Candidates must bring the following documents in original and self-attested copies at the time of the interview:
- Interview Call Letter
- Online Application Printout
- Proof of Date of Birth
- Photo Identity Proof
- Graduation Mark Sheets/Degree Certificate
- Caste Certificate (SC/ST/OBC) (if applicable)
- Disability Certificate (PwBD) (if applicable)
- Experience Certificates (if any)
- No Objection Certificate (NOC) from Employer (for candidates employed in Government/Public Sector)
Failure to provide these documents may lead to disqualification.
