Tenure of Commission

Selection Procedure

The selection process for Indian Navy SSC Officers Jan 2026 includes:

  1. Shortlisting
    • Based on normalized marks obtained in the qualifying degree.
    • BE/B.Tech candidates: Marks up to 5th semester considered for shortlisting.
    • Postgraduate candidates: Marks obtained in all semesters considered.
  2. SSB Interview
    • Shortlisted candidates will receive an email/SMS invitation.
    • No changes in SSB interview centers are allowed.
  3. Medical Examination
    • Candidates recommended by SSB will undergo medical tests as per Navy standards.
  4. Merit List

Training Details

Induction & Rank

  • Selected candidates will be inducted in the rank of Sub-Lieutenant.
  • Training will commence at INA, Ezhimala, Kerala.

Probation Period

  • SSC (NAIC) Officers: Three years
  • Other SSC Officers: Two years
  • If a candidate fails to meet performance criteria, they may be discharged from service.

NCC Candidates

  • NCC ‘C’ certificate holders receive 5% relaxation in cutoff marks.
