Selection Process
The selection process for Agniveer SSR & MR 2025 consists of the following stages:
Stage I – INET (Indian Navy Entrance Test)
- The exam will be computer-based.
- SSR Exam: 100 questions, MR Exam: 50 questions.
- The questions will be bilingual (Hindi & English) and multiple-choice.
- Sections:
- SSR: English, Science, Mathematics, General Awareness.
- MR: Science & Mathematics, General Awareness.
- Negative marking: 0.25 marks deducted for each wrong answer.
Stage II – PFT, Written Exam & Recruitment Medical Examination
Candidates who qualify Stage I will be shortlisted for Stage II, which includes:
Physical Fitness Test (PFT)
- Male: 1.6 km run in 6 min 30 sec, 20 squats, 15 push-ups, 15 bent knee sit-ups.
- Female: 1.6 km run in 8 min, 15 squats, 10 push-ups, 10 bent knee sit-ups.
Stage II Written Exam
- The written test is only for those who qualify PFT.
- The syllabus and question format are the same as Stage I INET.
Recruitment Medical Examination
- Conducted at designated military hospitals.
- Candidates found medically unfit can appeal within 5 days at a designated hospital.
Terms & Conditions
Duration of Service
- Agniveers will be enrolled for 4 years under the Navy Act 1957.
- Only 25% of Agniveers may be selected for permanent enrolment based on performance.
Leave Policy
- 30 days leave per year.
- Sick leave based on medical advice.

Medical Standards
- Minimum height: 157 cm for both genders.
- Vision Standard: Uncorrected 6/12, Corrected 6/6.
- Tattoo Policy: Only allowed on inner forearms and back of the hand.
- Pregnancy: Female candidates found pregnant during service will be disqualified.
Training & Posting
- Training for Agniveer 02/2025 starts in September 2025 at INS Chilka, Odisha.
- Batch 01/2026 & 02/2026 will have training in February 2026 and July 2026, respectively.
Disqualification Conditions
- Misbehavior in the exam hall.
- Incorrect information on the domicile certificate.
- Failure to provide original documents at any stage.
- Multiple applications submitted by the same candidate.
