Eligibility Criteria for Railway Group D

Criteria	Details
Nationality	– Citizen of India – Citizen of Nepal/Bhutan – Tibetan refugee (before 1st Jan 1962) intending to permanently settle in India – Person of Indian origin from specified countries with a certificate of eligibility issued by the Government of India
Age Limit	– General: 18-36 years (as of 01.01.2025) – Relaxations applicable for reserved categories (refer to age limit table)
Educational Qualification	– Candidates must possess the minimum educational qualification prescribed for the post as of the closing date (22.02.2025). – ITI/Apprenticeship required for specific posts. – Diploma/Degree in Engineering will not be accepted in lieu of ITI/Apprenticeship unless specified.
Medical Fitness	– Must fulfill the prescribed medical standards for the selected post. – Vision and physical standards vary by post (refer to Annexure A).
Maximum Attempts	– Only one application is allowed per candidate. – Submitting multiple applications will lead to disqualification.
Other Requirements	– Must have a valid mobile number and email ID. – Candidates must authenticate their identity using Aadhaar during application. – Candidates awaiting results of their qualifying examination are not eligible.

Exam Pattern and Selection Process

The selection process consists of the following stages:

1. Computer-Based Test (CBT)

A single-stage online test will be conducted.

Negative marking: 1/3rd of the marks will be deducted for each wrong answer.

2. Physical Efficiency Test (PET)

Shortlisted candidates from CBT will undergo a PET to test physical fitness.
PET standards will vary for male, female, and PwBD candidates.

3. Document Verification (DV)

Candidates who qualify for PET will be called for document verification.
All original certificates must be presented during DV.

4. Medical Examination
